I AM FULL OF LOVE is a photographic project on the coming of age experience.
A generational feeling of longing for a fuller, extended experience of teenage wonder and freedom amidst the times of social acceleration is represented in an array of images, ranging from portraits to still lifes, all hand printed through darkroom technique.
With the camera working as a key to the personal spaces of subjects facing the end of their childhood, a sense of intimacy, innocence and kindness populates the images, underpinning the enhanced emotional unravelling of the teenager. The projects reflects, not only on the experience of the subjects documented through the process, but in the coming of age of the author and its relation with youth that appears already lost or wasted to the idiosyncrasy of the 21st Century.
Understood Time as a constant pushing towards the end of the life period this project is trying to capture, dealing with this matter from a photographic perspective as much as from an emotional one turns into one of the essential research points for this series.
Moving from the personal to the generational passing through images of totemic quality about growth, change and memory, the project tries to find assertion through the interconnection of elements and media, aiming for the holistic, to bring close the spectator to an experience that may be as theirs as it is the author’s either internally as it is visually.
I AM FULL OF LOVE is an ongoing series of work, with its first chapter completed in 2020.
